1. Overview

Calto (hereinafter “the Service”) values your privacy and complies with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information We Don’t Collect

Calto follows a privacy-first principle. By default, we do not collect the following information:

  • Your calculations and documents
  • Personal identifying information (name, phone number, etc.)
  • Location data
  • Device data such as contacts or photos

All calculations and documents are stored only on your device.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

Calto uses Google Analytics 4 (Firebase Analytics) to collect anonymized usage statistics for service improvement. We also use Firebase Crashlytics to collect app crash reports. This applies to both the Calto app and the Calto website.

Data collected includes:

  • App usage events (e.g., feature usage frequency, screen views)
  • General device information (device model, OS version)
  • App performance data (session duration)
  • App crash reports (stack traces and device state when errors occur)

Data NOT collected:

  • The content of your calculations or documents
  • Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number)

Anonymous analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

This data does not identify individuals and is processed in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.

2.3 Optionally Collected Information

The following information may be required for certain features:

  • Email address: When contacting support
  • Payment information: When purchasing paid features (processed by app stores; we do not store payment details)

3. How We Use Information

Collected information is used only for:

  • Providing and maintaining the Service
  • Fixing bugs and improving performance
  • Responding to user inquiries
  • Sending service-related announcements

4. Information Sharing

Calto does not sell or share your personal information with third parties.

However, information may be shared in the following cases:

  • Legal requirements: Court orders or lawful requests from authorities
  • Service providers: App stores (Apple, Google), Google Analytics/Firebase for anonymized usage analytics

5. External Services

5.1 Exchange Rate and Cryptocurrency APIs

We use Frankfurter API (ECB-based exchange rates) and CoinGecko (cryptocurrency prices) for currency conversion and cryptocurrency data. Your IP address may be transmitted to these services in the process. The content of your calculations is not transmitted.

5.2 App Stores

App downloads and payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and their respective privacy policies apply.

6. Data Security

We take the following measures to protect your data:

  • All documents are stored locally on your device
  • Network communications use encryption (HTTPS)
  • We follow the principle of collecting minimum necessary data

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

  • Data deletion: Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device
  • Analytics opt-out: You can disable analytics data collection in the app settings
  • Information request: You can request to view, correct, or delete collected information

8. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If we become aware that information from a child under 14 has been collected, we will take immediate steps to delete it.

9. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be modified due to legal changes or service updates. Significant changes will be announced through in-app notifications or email.

Modified policies take effect 7 days after the announcement.
